The International Forum on Urbanism (IFoU) developed one more annual conference and this time’s main theme was “The Entrepreneurial City”. After nine successful conferences around the globe, it was time for Hong Kong to receive IFoU and discuss social, economic and environmental challenges from a design and architecture perspectives. “How to create urban prosperity and an inclusive economy” was the starting point question, following the goals of UN Habitat’s New Urban Agenda.

Ar. Nuno Soares, Adjunct Assistant Professor at CUHK, was the moderator at two parallel sessions:  “Economy_1” and “Mixed Themes Economy, Informality & Spatial Models”. In addition, his team at CURB – Center for Architecture and Urbanism was one of the partners helping the event come to life and contributing to the critical thinking and solutions developed at the event.

For three days the conference hosted by the School of Architecture of the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) held different various sessions, field trips and colloquiums.
