CURB – Center for Architecture and Urbanism joined the Master of Science in Urban Design program from the School of Architecture, Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) and organized the “Post Industry Urban Design Workshop”, held at Ponte 9 – Creative Platform.
The “Post Industry Urban Design Workshop” is a project aiming to address Macau’s industrial past and to generate ideas about the revitalization of those spaces. This workshop in specific had an entrepreneurial approach, exploring Macau’s business potential.
Created and coordinated by Ar. Nuno Soares, director of CURB and Adjunct Assistant Professor at CUHK, it also had Hendrick Tieben, Director of the M.Sc. in Urban Design program and Assistant Director of the B.S.Sc. in Urban Studies at CUHK, and Filipa Simões, Co-director of CURB as instructors.
The workshop was structured as a design competition throughout five days in which the different teams carried out a program, created a concept, designed a proposal, and presented it to an audience. It also included multiple site visits, analysis, seminars, and workshops.
This consolidates the relationship between the two entities contributing to continuous successful cross-border collaborations.
