UIA Education Commission / UIA-UNESCO meetings in Madrid

The International Union of Architects Education Commission and the Validation Council for Architectural Education held their first meetings of the 2017-2020 triennium in Madrid on June at the headquarters of Colegio Oficial de Arquitectos de Madrid [COAM].

Ar. Nuno Soares participated in this meeting in his capacity of Member of the Steering Committee of UIA Education Commission (EDUCOM) and UIA-UNESCO Validation Council for Architectural Education (VCA), where he is representing UIA Region IV (Asia and Oceania).

The meeting had the presence of UIA’s President Ar. Thomas Vonier and was chaired by Co-Directors Ar. Magda Mostafa and Ar. Marilys Nepomochie. Amongst the topics on the agenda were the objectives for the triennium for both EDUCOM and VCAE, the cooperation with other UIA Working Programmes and international organizations, the preparations for UIA’s World Architects Congress – Rio 2020 and the UNESCO/UIA Validation System new protocols, as well as upcoming validation visits.
