The judging of the first UNESCO-UIA & MIDO Design Prize for Responsible Architecture, took place in 20th April in Paris. Prof. Nuno Soares took part as one of the jury members presided by Jana Revedin as Unesco Representative.

The prize was created to promote Responsible Architecture and the implementation of the key principles of Habitat III’s Urban Agenda. Open to students from schools validated by the UNESCO-UIA system, namely “urban and rural development that is people-centred”, based on “human rights and fundamental freedoms, facilitating living together, ending all forms of discrimination and violence, and empowering all individuals and communities, while enabling their full and meaningful participation.” The winners will receive their awards at the upcoming UIA 2017 World Architects Congress in Seoul.
