The second edition of the Hong Kong Urban Thinkers Campus, an initiative of UN-Habitat’s World Urban Campaign, was held at the AIT Building at the Chinese University of Hong Kong and CURB – Center for Architecture and Urbanism among Civic Exchange, Clean Air Exchange and Designing Hong Kong were some of the partners involved.
The Urban Thinkers Campus was created as a way to reflect on current urban challenges and trends as well as to propose a new urban paradigm, discussing and building consensus on urban challenges, working on sustainable answers to the future of our cities.
“The New Urban Agenda” discussed at the United Nations Conference on Housing and Sustainable Urban Development (Habitat III) and the “Hong Kong 2030+: Towards a Planning Vision and Strategy Transcending 2030” were the cornerstones papers’ of this event’s edition and contributed to the debate around the future development of Hong Kong.
The event brought together at the Chinese University of Hong Kong a wide range of scholars, professionals, and experts to assess these following subjects: “Urban Inclusion and Leaving No One Behind”; “Urban Prosperity and Inclusive Economic Development”; “Urban Resilience and Environmental Sustainability” and “Urban Design and Public Space”.
